As many of our Divers know, there are plenty of great diving opportunities right along our coast. But, the closer you are to shore, the lower visibility can be, and nobody likes long surface swims. So, what’s the answer to expanding your diving locations? A kayak! Get to places you can’t easily reach from shore, and places the dive boat don’t go, by setting up a kayak for Scuba Diving. Here, we demonstrate water entry and exit off of a kayak. Stay tuned for more kayak diving fun from Channel Islands Scuba!

Busy Sunday on the Spectre
We had a busy Sunday on the Spectre Dive Boat on Sunday, Feb 7, 2021! Two new Open Water Divers – Kaitlyn and Sophia, Kendra completed her Deep Diving certification and earned her Advanced Open Water rating in the process, and Matt completed his Horizon Semi-Closed Rebreather certification! Congrats to all!

ScubaPro HUD Software Update
For all of our Divers using the ScubaPro Heads Up Display (HUD) Dive Computer, a new software update (version 1.30) was announced today. You can download the update with instructions on the update process at ScubaPro’s website.

New Perfect Buoyancy Divers
Oof! Got a little behind! Belated congrats to our newest Perfect Buoyancy Divers – Lauren and Valeri! As always, was great working with you two, and look forward to diving again soon!


New Advanced OW Divers
Our Divers keep racking up the dives! Congrats to Garrett and Brendon for earning their Advanced Open Water Ratings by completing 4 ConEd courses and completing at least 24 dives! Way to go, gents!


HMCS Yukon – San Diego – Dec 2020
We had a great trip down to San Diego back in December with a big group of Divers. We had six working on their Deep and Wreck certifications and four Dive Pros assisting. We were also able to get one of our Instructors upgraded to a Deep and Wreck instructor as well.

New Shark Eco Divers
Congrats to our new Shark Ecology Divers – Chris and Sierra! Had a great time with these two learning all about sharks. And they’re going to get to put all this knowledge to use soon on our trip to San Diego in April, 2021 looking for Seven Gill Sharks!
